Club Rules & Regulations
These Rules and Regulations are established to ensure the safe, orderly, and responsible operation of Ottawa Archers, and to promote a respectful environment for all members. The safe operation and maintenance of the club, its facilities, and its equipment are the shared responsibility of ALL MEMBERS.
Ottawa Archers is a VOLUNTEER-based organization, and all members are expected to contribute to maintaining a safe, respectful, and cooperative environment at all times.
CODE OF CONDUCT
- Members shall conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.
- Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Members are expected to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of all skill levels.
- Members shall respect the space, safety, and concentration of fellow archers at all times.
- The use of alcohol or drugs prior to or during archery activities is strictly prohibited.
RANGE RULES
(3D Practice Range – FITA Field – 3D Course)
- Clear communication is mandatory at all times while on the range.
- No shooting shall commence until it has been clearly confirmed that no person is downrange or retrieving arrows.
- Upon completion of shooting, a clear and audible call of “CLEAR” must be made before any person proceeds beyond the shooting line.
- Shooting shall not resume until all archers have returned to the firing line.
- Members retrieving or searching for arrows must ensure that others are aware of their location at all times.
- Bows must be left in clear view in front of the target as a visible safety indicator that a person is downrange. This is a mandatory safety requirement.
- When using the 3D course, members shall remain strictly on designated trails. Deviation from marked paths or taking shortcuts between lanes is prohibited.
- Before nocking an arrow, each archer is responsible for confirming that the range is completely clear and no person is downrange.
COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT
- All members are required to comply with club rules and policies at all times.
- Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or termination of membership.
- Serious safety violations may result in immediate removal from the range.
- Where a member’s status is in question, verification may be completed via the club website:

- Enter the individual’s 5 digit membership number or email address to confirm active status.

- Absolutely NO shooting allowed on the rugby field!
- No Crossbows allowed on the property.
- No Broadheads allowed anywhere, as they cause too much damage to the targets. Field points only please.
- All dogs at the range must be leashed, and please pick up after them!
- Close the gate when entering and leaving the Twin Elm Rugby Park
